Michelin is especially proud to reveal its new Bib Gourmand Benelux selection in the 12th edition of its Bib Gourmand recommendations which features an updated list of excellent eateries selected by the MICHELIN Guide’s inspectors. The common denominator among the picks: a set three-course menu for €39 or less. Each of the singled-out restaurants delivers an irresistible mix of affordability, quality and an enjoyable eating experience.

The growing importance of local products is a clear trend in the new Bib Gourmand guide. “More emphasis is being placed on vegetables and locally-sourced products,” explains Werner Loens, director of the MICHELIN Guide selection in Benelux. “The chefs want to do their part for the environment, and the result is an incredibly fresh and creative energy. Toss in the many international influences and what you have is an exciting assortment of new Bib Gourmand establishments.”

Netherlands chefs are increasingly proud of their rich terroir, and a heightened respect for nature has imbued the 17 Dutch restaurants awarded a Bib Gourmand rating. Restaurants such as Boompjes in Overloon and Plantage 87 in Oude Wetering, for example, approach vegetables in astounding new ways.

An international influence can also be felt. The Green Rosein Arnhem and Coperto Restobar in Zwolle, for instance, invite guests on a modern, luxury-class voyage around the world.

The Belgianselection features 18 new establishments. Traditional French and Belgian cuisines have regained a greater presence. For example, congenial restaurants such as La Charcuteriein Saint-Gilles and Vino Vinoin Namur will delight gourmets with their typically hearty, traditional bistro fare. Asian cuisine can also be found among the Belgian newcomers. The intensity of the offerings at Car Bon in Ixelles and Station 3 in Kraainem will not fail to entice lovers of fine Chinese food.

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourgis home to two restaurants that have been newly achieved a Bib Gourmand listing. The sophisticated cuisine of Two 6 Twoin Strassen impresses with its international flavours and masterful technique, while L’Atelier Windsorin Luxembourg is an essential destination for fans of dishes borrowed from Auguste Escoffier’s classic guide.

The Bib Gourmand Benelux 2020 guide will go on sale in 22nd of November. The edition includes:

  • Listed restaurants in Belgium, including 18 new entrants;
